Here's the thing: Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook are among the most commonly used paid advertising platforms. As it turns out however they do not capture the best quality of leads.

Nor the highest volume of leads.

When it comes to driving leads, Social media only rank 5th, after Google Adwords, Email Marketing, Referrals and yes, Organic Web Traffic still beats them all.

Second, on-page web conversions bring the highest volume of leads, after email marketing. Again, social only ranks 4th.

So what does that tell you?

Would it make sense to invest more in getting those high volume AND quality leads? The best way to do that is to use popups on your website or blog. This is not a random assumption., by-the-way.

Last year at Incomedairy they tested the 5 most popular ways to show opt-in forms on a website. These were

  • The top of the homepage
  • Bottom of
  • Sidebar
  • Squeeze Pages
  • PopUps
The results show the overwhelming majority of signups come from popups, at 63.9% with the other odd 40% distributed over the other categories.

Not too surprising the lowest converting of all was the classic sidebar signup.

I have to mention this was all done with free traffic.

Today the majority of websites are using popups. It simply is the no. 1 way to build your list. Lately I've been seeing more and more full page overlays and they look awesome.

The trouble is: there have been so many plugins and generators on the market. I bought several and they all have some specific feature I like, but there's always something missing too. I'm not implying that the new EZpopups is perfect, but I like what I see. A lot.

This new generator by Sean Donahue is the first of it's kind. It comes with a drag and drop builder and you can do just about anything with it. Complete design freedom is yours. You can use it for popups, slide-ins, overlays, coupons and more.

This thing integrates with all the major autoresponders, crm's, shopify, you name it.

You can funnel your subscribers to multiple lists at once.

With the targeting feature you can show different popups for different sections of your site, you can split test the crap out of your popups to get the best conversion rates, and if for some reason you only want your popup to show to people coming from Facebook because you hate them Twittereens, that's no problem at all.

Did I mention this comes with a drag and drop builder?  I have Profit Builder and it took me a while to get used to but now it's like my smartphone, can't do without. So if you're in the market for a truly versatile tool, check it out.
